Mr. Eggleton is the founder and Managing Partner of sole AFC. Over 15 years ago, Mr. Eggleton began employment as an Investment Banker with American Medical Capital & Commercial Capital (a sister company of AFC), then later on was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2016, working primarily on securities leveraging, commercial real estate financing/underwriting, clean energy financing, issuing bonds, commercial letters of credit, and life settlement portfolio transactions. Overall,
Archie has over 25 years of banking experience. Archie was a Vice President with Fifth Third Bank and held various capacities at other commercial banks.
Prior to his banking career, Mr. Eggleton was a State Representative for both The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press in Lansing and Grand Rapids, Michigan, under the newspapers’ Joint Operating Agreement. He then decided to utilize his business degree to switch his career into finance, seeing that national newspapers were beginning to decline in ad revenue and circulation numbers each year since the 1980s, as the newspaper managers blamed expanding cable TV and the internet for siphoning display and classified ad revenues and thereby NOI, and youth trending toward online technology caused circulation numbers to decline.
Mr. Eggleton became the sole shareholder of American Medical Capital (AMC) in 2017. Over 30 years ago, AMC initially entered the hospital construction market by issuing bonds backed by a Direct Pay Letter of Credit (DPLC), with bond ratings tied to the DPLC bank's credit rating, also known as Variable Rate Demand Notes. Over the years, AMC has arranged financing for all kinds of commercial real estate: Industrial, mixed-use, hospitality, home subdivisions, condominiums, and retail. In 2017, Mr. Eggleton moved the office from Bethesda, Maryland, to Grand Rapids, Michigan. AMC also finances Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) for Family Offices to help them maximize their investments without liquidating their portfolios, and helps general contractors improve cash flow. He is also an investor in commercial real estate and clean energy.
Archie and his wife Rachel have three sons and one daughter. Eric (ITT): Works at Farmers Insurance's largest U.S. campus in Product Administration; Joshua (The Univ. of Michigan) owns Eggleton Financial Services in South Carolina; Makailah (Northwestern University), who is employed as an attorney; Zachary is a college senior majoring in Urban Planning & Development.
Archie began his college education at the University of Notre Dame in Computer Science and Engineering on a full academic scholarship, later completing a Business Administration degree at Davenport University (undergrad), and subsequently attending Western Michigan University for a General MBA with a concentration in both Finance and Marketing.
